Page templates are now in the Page Builder

What is changing
Editors can now save any page as a template and reuse it when creating a new document. The template stores the slice order and the content of each slice, so a new page starts populated rather than empty.
Who this affects
Anyone building repeatable page types for a client: landing pages, case studies, product pages. Templates are defined per custom type, so a template saved on a Landing Page cannot be applied to a Blog Post.
- Templates are available on every repeatable custom type.
- They are shared across the whole repository, not per user.
- Editing a template does not change pages already created from it.

What you need to do
Nothing is required on existing projects. Templates are additive and no custom type needs to be changed. If you want them available to a client team straight away, pull the latest models so your local setup matches the repository.

Template variables are on the roadmap: placeholder values an editor fills in once and that propagate through the page. We will cover the workflow in a guide once it ships.
